This was a sketch that kinda ran away with me. As you've seen (
[link]) my sketches tend to revolve around characters and people and whatnot. This particular character, unnamed as of yet, began as a sketch. Then she started conversing with me. She told me about a pain than began in the heart and moved out to the soul, then on to the body. She told me about a trial that forces one to rethink who they are.
As she spoke to me, I inked her in, then I gave her color and then, somewhere along the way, she became alive.
I enjoy these small journeys that some of my 'sketches' take me on. They'll push my skills and teach me new things. They give me reasons to use new materials and find different papers. They teach me about myself and what I can
really do.
You know as much about her as I do. I don't know if this is an end for her, or a beginning, or even just another stage in her cycle. I don't know. So tell yourself her story, let her speak to you. Only then will she truly be alive.
Hmmmm. She might be appearing more often now that she's got a name.
