Courage

I've written a lot about how creating art is good for me, but sometimes the pressure to create gets in the way of the actual creation. I'm spending so much time stressing over meeting both real and imaginary standards that I can barely get a squiggly sketch down before I talk myself out of the work. I don't create the work I want to create because I need to spend the time on work that pays, gets attention, or forwards my goals. 
Having written that out, I realize that it sounds very silly. But this problem is real. Shutting yourself down because you feel inadequate or under prepared is a problem that people deal with in every pursuit and career. 
That's why this piece is called 'Courage'.
I decided that, despite my fears, I would finish a piece for myself. Just for myself. 
There are still fears, still internal and external expectations, and the need to prepare and improve. They will always be there. But I'm learning how to find courage to create anyway.
