Deviation Actions
Hello! These are the commissions I'm currently offering. If the option you're looking for is not listed, I've removed it because of time constraints, lack of interest and/or merged it with another option. If you have any questions, you can contact me via deviant art or by email.
So I'm opening this up to you guys! Link me to an image of your character's head and, for $5 I'll draw them for you.
$5 per head
Character commissions come in four different variations: Pen Sketch, Pencil Sketch, Line Art and Colored Art.
Pen Sketches look similar to the Pen Portraits only with a great deal more variation. They are messy, fast and relatively cheap at $10.
Pencil Sketches are cleaner than the Pen Sketches and will have less anatomical errors. They're also fairly cheap. $15
Line Art feels self explanatory. The pencil sketch underneath the lines is erased, unless otherwise requested. $20
Colored Art is the cleaned Line Art + Color. The coloring style used and the simple background is displayed below. $40
So! If you're interested in purchasing this here commission, I'll need a link(s) to images of your character and your variation of choice. If you want examples for the other variations, see the deviation here: kiki-tayler.deviantart.com/art…
If you wish to talk to me about requesting a commission, either send me a note via Deviant Art or Email me at kiki.tayler@gmail.com
All payments will be made through Paypal. If you cannot pay through Paypal, other payment options can be discussed.
I have the right to refuse to work on any commission I feel violates my personal beliefs or standards. I can, and will, turn down commissions if I feel that either the commissioner or the desired artwork is questionable.
As guidelines for those seeking my work, I will not...
Create pornographic or overly suggestive work
Create violent gore-fest work
Create work intended to hurt or insult another party
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
DISCLAIMER!! All commissions taken will have this as the default rights. If you wish to sell the art in any form, you must make any desired changes with me.
Rights: All artwork created belongs to me and must, therefore, be purchased from me or from those who have written consent from me. The commissioner of the artwork can use the commissioned artwork for personal use only. (i.e. Avatars, Icons, Laptop Stickers) I reserve the right to post the artwork in my portfolio and online. Should the original copy of the work (if not digital) not be purchased, I can display the work in various shows and contests, though never for sale. Should any express the desire to purchase the original, I will contact the commissioner to see if they wish to purchase the piece before finalizing the sale.

Pen Portraits
The mug shots of my sketchbook. I literally have dozens of these floating around. They're very easy for me to do and, often, help me warm up before doing more difficult work. The one problem with them is that I then want to turn each head into a full blown character and, at the rate I create new heads, that's not physically or emotionally possible for me.So I'm opening this up to you guys! Link me to an image of your character's head and, for $5 I'll draw them for you.

Character Commissions
Got a character who deserves more than a mug shot? Great! I enjoy character design, hence the problem stated above, and love getting to draw other people's characters in my own style. I find it very relaxing.Character commissions come in four different variations: Pen Sketch, Pencil Sketch, Line Art and Colored Art.

Mastering being a Beginner
Being a Beginner Week
Every artist is going to discover that they're a beginner again. We return to this important phase multiple times as we try new mediums, new techniques, and new methods of displaying our efforts. The trick is to rejoice at our status instead of being frustrated.
Greetings! I'm Kiki-Tayler, a perpetual beginner and ever-practicing optimist.
We all return to being beginners multiple times. Personally I've been a beginner at least a dozen times. The short above was my experience going from watercolors over to oil paints. Admittedly I did not take the transition well, and swore off oils for several years. But, when I did r

Hello everyone! I'm Kiki-Tayler, a collector of colored pencils.
In this article I'll be talking about the technique I use when working with colored pencils. I'll cover the topics of colored pencil brands/types, paper quality, auxiliary tools, and the super secret technique. (It's not all that secret, tbh)
Let's dive in and talk about the pencils themselves.
I use a mixture of Prismacolor pencils and Faber Castell pencils.

People and Portraits
Hello! I'm Kiki-Tayler, the one-who-studies-hands.
Hands are complicated things and a daunting challenge for artists everywhere. In this article, I'll walk you through the structure of the hand, how hands bend and move, and how to predict where folds of skin and flesh will appear.
Whenever I'm looking at something complicated, I find it helpful to look at the bones first.
Carpals
The 8 carpal bones don't need to be differentiated. While they do flex and move, we almost never see it from underneath layers of skin and muscle. So I always treat them as a single shape.

Focused Practice
Community Week
Every artist has moments when they feel like this, and that is okay. Wanting your art to be better is normal and nothing to be ashamed of. And you can use this feeling to improve and push your artwork to the next level.
Hello! I'm Kiki-Tayler, and I aspire to be a better artist.
In my journey of becoming a better artist, I've come across something known as 'Focused Practice' or 'Targeted Practice'. Focused Practice is a versatile form of training used by many artists to better their art skills. It works if you're a beginning artist or a seasoned professional, branching out into a new medium or deepening your understanding of
